U.S. Congressman Derek Kilmer plans to call a town hall meeting at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 17.

Residents of the Sixth Congressional District (including Clarham County and Jefferson County) can register to call City Hall or visit kilmer.house.gov/LIVE to listen to the live broadcast online.

Kilmer plans to brief residents on the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and answer questions from voters.

He also plans to discuss the recently passed "Infrastructure Investment and Employment Act" and ongoing efforts to pass the "Rebuild Better Act."

"For me, it's important to listen to as many voters in our region as possible," Kilmer said. "I hope people can join the city hall to learn more about the recovery from COVID-19, and my continuous efforts have advanced the "Rebuild Better" agenda so that we can create jobs and cut costs for working families, and let your The question is answered."

Library system set up budget hearing

The Bei'ao Library System Board of Directors will hold a public hearing on the 2022 operating budget at the regular board meeting of Zoom at 5:30 pm on November 18 (Thursday). Visit Zoom at tinyurl.com/NOLSbudget22.

The library system has a budget of US$5,106,748 in 2021 and a proposed budget of US$5,514,646 in 2022.

The public is encouraged to share their thoughts at the meeting; if they cannot attend, they will be asked to send an email to NOLS Executive Director Noah Glaude at Director@nols.org or via email LibraryBoard@nols.org.

Zoom seminar hosts about civic leaders

Clallam Mosaic and Clallam County Parent to Parent are continuing their free virtual series "Chat with Mosaic". The first of the two upcoming free Zoom conferences, "Focus on Citizens: Meet Linda Middleton" is scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 18th at 3pm.

Concerned Citizen started as a nursery and preschool in Fox in 1979 and now serves more than 1,000 clients and employs more than 122 people of all ages in Clarham and Jefferson Counties. The organization’s mission is to provide assistance to persons with disabilities of all ages anytime, anywhere, and to provide skills development, care, guidance and additional support as needed.

The next seminar in the series, "Developmental Disabilities in Clarham County," will be held on Thursday, December 2 at 3 pm.

The Kiwanis Club in Sequim-Dungeness is selling emergency H2O water filter roll-up equipment as a fundraising event and helping the community better prepare for disasters. Club members will be selling filters in front of Super Saver Foods in Saar, 114 East Laurison Avenue, Port Angeles from 3pm to 6pm on November 20th (Saturday). The filter is $50 (including tax); pay by cash or check.

Sequim Guild's thrift store opens this week

Sequim Dungeness Hospital Guild Thrift Shop, 204 W. Bell St., is open from 10 am to 4 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 18-20.

Featured items include two tiled coffee tables, two large upholstered chairs, a dining table with Lazy Susan in the center and four matching chairs, Van Briggle pottery, and many clothes and jewelry. From November 18th to 20th, our store will not accept donations due to large stocks.

All proceeds are used to fund the health needs of the Sequim community.

Sinclair Place is Tots for Tots drop-off point

Community garden bed, usable plot

Sequim Community Organic Garden (COGS), located behind St. Luke’s Bishop’s Church at 525 Fifth Avenue North, has two loft beds and a plot for rent. The cost of owning a plot or raised bed in the garden is $45. Loft beds and plots will be rented out on a first-come, first-served basis.
